Two months. 22 dates.
A whole new way to experience Kinshasa.
Every summer, thousands of Congolese head home. For some it's become routine, a quick stopover. For others, a real adventure. One thing's certain: with KINO CONGO, it's bound to be an experience!
Kino Summer Experience 2026 is the first edition of KINO CONGO's summer tourism program in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Across July and August 2026, we offer seven activities — 22 dates in total — designed for the Congolese diaspora coming home, Kinshasa families, and expats who want to experience the capital as more than spectators. Why now? Because summer in Kin is, statistically, when the most Congolese return — and the options are limited. But more than that: it's time for a new kind of tourism!
Each activity is led by a local guide, with transport from Gombe, a program unlike anything you're used to, and professional photography included. Outings range from a beach day at Picasso Beach or La Sablière to the premium weekend at Zongo Falls, taking in the Lola ya Bonobo sanctuary, the Amani ecological park, nature walks at Symphonies Naturelles and the urban Treasure Hunt every Wednesday across the city of Kinshasa. Book online, 50% deposit, payment by mobile money (Orange Money, M-Pesa).
We draw on the slow tourism already practiced by South Africa, Rwanda and Senegal — tourism that takes its time, pays locals, and respects the river and the forest. Above all, we draw on Kinshasa itself: its rumba, its SAPE, its street food, its architecture and its stories. Kinshasa isn't just a stopover — it's a season.
The Congolese diaspora from Brussels, Paris, Johannesburg, London, Atlanta — and everywhere else the Congolese community has settled — coming home to see family and rediscover the country. Kinshasa families looking for things to do in the city over the long holidays. Expats in Kin (NGOs, embassies, companies) who want to break out of the Gombe-Hotel-Office loop. Travellers wondering what to visit in the DRC and what to do in Kinshasa during their summer 2026 holidays in Central Africa.
