"The great escape — two days, 135 km, the roaring water."
You know Zongo by name — every Kinois does. But between "I know it exists" and "falling asleep to the sound of the falls, a glass of traditional wine in hand, the rumba still in your legs"… there's a world of difference. This weekend is that world.
For two days, you handle nothing. We pick you up early morning, drive to Kongo Central, and by noon you drop your bag at Seli Safari Resort, on the banks of the Inkisi. The afternoon: Zongo Falls — 65 metres of roaring water, the thing you always "planned" to see one day.
In the evening, we fire up the grill by the water, a live rumba band plays, and when night falls the griot tells stories. Not a tourist dinner show — a real Congolese evening, among us, under the stars.
Sunday, we take our time: the SUNGUZA massage falls, a final lunch, then the road back. You're home in Kin by evening, your head full and rested. Zonga na Zongo.
One of our Zongo trips — filmed on location.
135 km west of Kinshasa, in the heart of Kongo Central, Zongo Falls plunge 65 metres into the Inkisi river. For one weekend, you leave the rhythm of Kin behind to sleep by the water, eat together, listen to live rumba and discover landscapes most Kinois have never seen in person. Transport, accommodation, meals, activities — everything is organised. You just show up.
Transport, resort, meals, safety, guide — we handle everything. You drop your bag and enjoy.
Not as a tourist passing through. As someone who's coming home — and (re)discovering Zongo like never before.
A photographer and videographer are on site to capture the weekend. You leave with pro memories, and we leave with a reportage.
Live rumba, the griot by the campfire, other diaspora travellers. Real connections.
Format designed to disconnect without burning out: back Sunday evening, operational Monday.
$10 from your ticket goes to an orphanage via Fondation Mwinda. Travel with purpose.

Seli Safari Resort is a nature estate in Zongo, in the heart of Kongo Central, about 135 km west of Kinshasa. Built on the banks of the Inkisi river, the resort offers chalets, villas and bungalows surrounded by tropical forest.
It's the starting point for Zongo Falls — 65 metres of water plunging into the Inkisi — and the SUNGUZA massage falls, accessible by guided excursion from the estate. The resort has a restaurant, a pool and runs on solar power and a generator.
This is where you'll sleep, eat, and where the rumba will echo in the evening by the water.
Seli Safari Resort on Facebook →About ten kilometres downstream from the main falls, the SUNGUZA massage falls offer a unique experience: a cascade of about 25 metres whose water falls onto flat rocks below.
Unlike Zongo Falls, you can swim here. You stand under the flow of water, and the force of the cascade creates a natural massage effect on your shoulders and back. Travellers describe the experience as the most intense massage they have ever had — except there is no spa, no therapist. Just the water, the rock and the forest.
Access is by vehicle from the resort, followed by a short trek through tropical forest. Swimsuit and towel required.
Tomela — "let's drink" in Lingala — is a Congolese wine brand made from local fruits and plants: palm sap, avocado leaf, starfruit. It's Congolese terroir wine, bottled in Kinshasa.
During the Saturday evening BBQ, you'll taste these wines at a tasting. Not a bottle giveaway — a moment of discovery around an emerging Congolese terroir brand.
Discover Tomela Wines →Fondation Mwinda is a Congolese NGO founded in 2018 that works in protection, education and health for vulnerable communities in the DRC.
$10 from every ticket for Zongo Falls goes directly to the foundation. By travelling with Kino Congo, you participate in tourism with a real, local impact.
