Africa Park Aventure, formerly Lac Ma Vallée, is the first multi-adventure park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is in Kimwenza, commune of Mont-Ngafula, 26 km from Kinshasa city center. The site is next to the Lola ya Bonobo sanctuary — the two can be combined in the same day.
What's on offer
An outdoor sports park with zip line, kayak, trampoline, pedal boats, canopy exploration, archery, climbing and marked hiking trails. A restaurant is available on site. Entry alone costs $5 per person (soft drink included). Activities are charged separately, between $10 and $25 each. An all-activities pass is available at $50.
Who it's for
Ideal for team outings, groups of teenagers and families with children from age 8. For a couple or solo visit, the cost of individual activities adds up quickly — the $50 pass is better value if you plan to do several. Not suited to visitors looking for a passive outing.
When to go
Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 09:30 to 17:30. Closed during the week. Book for groups. The dry season (May to October) is best — hiking trails stay passable and the zip line is not suspended due to rain.
Budget for a day
Return transport with Kino Congo: $125 for a car of up to 6 people, around $21 per person in a group. Entry: $5 (soft drink included). Activities: $10–25 individually, or $50 for the all-activities pass. Total budget per person (group of 6 with pass): ~$42.
The Kino Congo tip
The site is 5 minutes from Lola ya Bonobo. Combining the two is straightforward: Lola ya Bonobo in the morning (guided tours at 10:00 or 11:30), Africa Park Aventure in the afternoon. One trip from Kinshasa for two very different experiences.
Combine with
Lola ya Bonobo in Kimwenza — bonobo sanctuary, 5 minutes away. Mbudi Nature in Lutendele — Congo river rapids, in the same commune of Mont-Ngafula.
