Texaf-Bilembo, cultural and artistic centre in Kinshasa

Texaf Bilembo is a cultural and artistic space founded by art historian Chantal Tombu and photographer-writer Alain Huart. It occupies a former textile factory of over 1,000 m² in the Nouvelle Concession UTEX, rue Esengo (entrance at 372, Avenue Colonel Mondjiba), in the commune of Gombe in Kinshasa.

The space pursues a dual mission: educational, with workshops on Congolese culture and environmental issues; and artistic, with temporary exhibitions promoting contemporary Congolese visual art.

Beyond the exhibitions, Texaf Bilembo has a café, a restaurant and a library of around 100 books on Congo, along with postcards and souvenirs. It is one of the most original places in Kinshasa to discover the city's artistic scene.
