Mbuela Lodge is an agrotourism complex located in Kisantu, in the province of Kongo Central, approximately 110 km from Kinshasa — around 2 to 3 hours by road via Route Nationale 1. Designed by former minister Antoine Ghonda, it places emphasis on local produce and Congolese culture.
Activities and facilities
The offering is comprehensive: zip line, quad bikes, buggy, karting, team sports (basketball, football, volleyball), pool, horse riding and giant chess. The kitchen is supervised by chef Théo Tambezo, who creates traditional Congolese specialties and international dishes reworked with produce from the local market.
The site welcomes families on weekend getaways, teams for team-building activities and corporate seminars. Booking is strongly recommended on weekends and during school holidays.
Combine with other sites in Kisantu
Kisantu has several major destinations reachable in a single day. The Kisantu Botanical Garden — one of the oldest in Central Africa with 3,000 species across 225 ha — is a few kilometers away. The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, the largest in Congo, is also worth a visit. For nature lovers, the Zongo Falls are about 30 km away.
For the journey from Kinshasa, a private driver is the most practical option if you want to visit several sites.
