At Ndjili Airport
Ndjili International Airport (FIH) is the main entry and exit point for Kinshasa. Getting through here can be smooth if you know what to expect. Here is the practical information for arriving and leaving without stress.
On arrival
- Have your passport, visa and vaccination booklet (yellow fever) ready before going through customs.
- Passport control can take time. Stay patient and avoid any agitated behaviour.
- Baggage is collected in the retrieval hall after passport control.
- At the exit, unofficial intermediaries will offer their services — decline politely and wait for your confirmed contact or driver.
- Kino Congo handles transfers from Ndjili to your destination in Kinshasa. Your driver will be waiting with a sign bearing your name in the arrivals hall.
Departure
- Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before take-off for international flights.
- An airport development tax (IDEF) of 55 USD is payable before check-in. It is paid at the designated counters in the terminal.
